The fluid to be cooled enters through the upper collector of the heat exchangers located inside the Freva RTCY-M series cooling tower via pumps and circulates through the exchanger tubes. Water is sprayed onto the top of the exchangers from the water distribution system. Thus, the heat of the fluid flowing inside the tubes is transferred to the water. Fresh air is also introduced with the help of radial fans. Against the direction of the water flow, the airflow occurs upward. The air transferred from the fans to the cooling tower moves upward along the exchanger, and is expelled into the atmosphere from the top of the tower. A small portion of the water sprayed onto the coils evaporates during this process, thus dissipating the heat intended to be removed from the system. The cooled fluid is sent back to the system through the collector located at the bottom point of the exchanger.
